Chiming bells are going off in your ear at 7 A.M. It’s a Thursday morning, and you are out of 85 degree weather wardrobe ideas. 15 minutes pass while you stare at a closet that is much better suited for the fall/winter season. At this point, brushing your teeth and washing your face seems like a better option. You have 10 minutes before having to leave for work, still standing in the silk robe that hung from your closet hook at 6:59 A.M. Does that sound familiar?
Collagen is the New Fashion Technology
Remember when light up shoes were the biggest innovation in commercial fashion? It was during an age where children’s toys were shifting to CD-ROMs, Game Boys were shrinking in size, and paper 3-D glasses with blue and red lenses provided an enhanced reality.
Since those tiny light bulbs activated by steps, technology in fashion has been one of the biggest phenomenons in the industry’s history. Many creative interpretations have been literal. Jackets are laced with charging cables, dresses have LED lights shimmering through organza and fiber-optics, and cross body purses have shrunk down to hold only a smartphone.
A Place Less Traveled
There is something romantic about the crunch of gravel under your shoes or a plush lawn under your feet. Flat, winding roads take a scenic tour of a place that looks virtually untouched. Switching your travels to a less jet-set, tourist destination will bring a “local” experience. The culture is raw and the scenery is its own secret.
Accessories can make or break a look… and the world.
When I plan a trip, I tend to think about my outfits first. I love matching a look to the vibe of a city or a location we are going to. What colors should I include in my minimized wardrobe? How can I mix and match the garments to save room for new things I purchase? It is a complicated web that I love to weave… then unweave… and weave again.
Bespoke Lingerie is the Staple of 2018
Lingerie and I go way back. The first time I tried the decadent lace was at the age of two. Digging through my mom’s burlesque costumes from the 80’s sparked my love of fashion. She kept some of her favorites from her dance wardrobe, and those pieces became my dress-up go-tos.
Now at the age of 20, I am collaborating with a bespoke lingerie brand that is rooted in lingerie’s history, the current zeitgeist, and women’s confidence. I introduce Madalyn Joy Designs.

Black Friday and Holiday Gift Guide 2017
I hope you all had a safe, joyous, and loving Thanksgiving! One childhood holiday memory that always makes me smile is the family sitting around the table after dinner looking at the paper. We would make our plan of attack for Black Friday. Who would make the run for the televisions? Who would get the lawn furniture? Which refrigerator or washer and dryer would mom get this year? What stores had the latest boot style on sale? It was all so invigorating.
Twirling in Tech
Joey Rodolfo is the man behind Buki. His vision was to create a sportswear line that works with your body. The definition of “modern lifestyle” has evolved to a hustle and ever-changing. It would make sense for our clothes to enhance our capabilities, not weigh us down.
Necessary basics with a twist
Work out clothes turned street style is a huge trend. Comfort and practicality is the kind of clothing this day and age needs. Buki revolutionized the idea even more by creating versatile athleisure with fabric technology.
The Scene
A lot of people think San Francisco Bay Area is all hipsters who drink too much tea and sit around playing guitar. There are definitely a lot of those people, but SF style is more than that. It is driven by this stereotype and beyond.
